BRONZE AWARD
Service
Participants volunteer in their communities, make a positive contribution to society and demonstrate social responsibility.
Physical Recreation
Encourages young people to improve their fitness and performance, and enjoy healthy lifestyles for good mental and physical well-being.
Skills
Enables participants to develop their talents, broaden their abilities, increase their self-confidence and improve their employability.
Adventurous Journey
Young people discover a spirit of adventure and gain a deeper understanding of the environment and the great outdoors.

As the Award is a programme of individual challenge, participants are encouraged to work on their own pace and show regular commitment over a period of time.
SILVER AWARD
The Silver Award is the second level of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.
The Silver Award compromises of four sections: Service, Physical Recreation, Skills, and Adventurous Journey. The Silver Award is for participants aged 15 and older. The minimum time requirement for the Silver Award is 12 months.
Adventurous Journey
Friends of Nature, Cyprus organizes most Adventurous Journeys for the Silver Award in the Akamas Peninsula.

Our last Gold Award participants chose to explore the villages in the Larnaca Mountainous Area (Kornos, Kato Lefkara, Pano Lefkara, Kato Drys, and Kalavasos) and made a video presentation of the villages’ cultural heritage.
